Applications for Expeditions

You have the idea. Never been done before. To explore a place so remote that nobody can find it in an atlas. The US military ONC chart dismisses the whole region as being not more than 15,000 feet with no known obstacles. Where do you go from here?

You need overview maps to show media and potential sponsors where their funding is going to take you. You need large scale maps of the area to have an idea of what you are up against. Fortunately this is no longer the hurdle at which the expedition flounders!.

I can produce high-resolution maps of any place in the world combining elevation data, landsat satellite imagery and other data sources. Overview maps at regional and global scale to show others where you are going. Local maps at up to 1:40,000 scale to show you where you are going!

Beyond simple maps, elevation models of mountains can be mocked up, enabling virtual a fly-by or exploration of the area from the comfort of your operator's chair. Once in the field, Dynamic maps can be updated with field data on daily position by satellite phone.

And at the end of the day, when everyone is home and the expedition written up, a poster-size map of the route followed would grace any wall!
